Service

Dog grooming

The cut that suits your dog best.

How we work

We get to know your dog and suggest the right cut

e look at the coat, the skin and the dog's general condition, and agree the length with you. A poodle in August doesn't wear the same cut as in January, and a matted Yorkshire needs different work from one brushed every day.

Technique

We cut with scissors, with clippers or both, depending on what the coat needs. We use dermatological products suited to the skin type and a dryer with controlled temperature: no cage dryers, no hot air left unattended.

Wellbeing

If your dog arrives anxious, we stop. Twenty minutes longer is worth far more than a dog who comes to associate grooming with fear.

Frequently asked questions

Before you bring them in

How often should I bring them?

It depends what you want and on the coat. If you just want them kept clean with maintenance baths, roughly every 10 days works. For a full clip (short all over), once a month is usual. And if the coat needs more looking after, as with long or curly breeds, it helps to come between cuts for a brush-out that keeps it knot-free, nourished and looking well. At the first visit we'll give you a plan for your own dog.

My dog is very matted, will you shave him?

Only if there's no alternative. Pulling a tight mat off the skin hurts and can break it, so when the tangle is right against the skin, clipping is the kinder option. It depends on the kind of mat and how many there are: we always look at it with you before we start.

Do you groom cats?

Yes, as long as they stay calm through it. If your cat gets too anxious they may need sedation, and that is for their vet to decide; in that case we arrange the session around them.

Can I stay while you groom him?

We don't usually recommend it. On a first visit it sometimes helps, especially with puppies, but most dogs behave better without their owner in the room: fewer distractions, more relaxed.

What if my dog is very old or frail?

We adapt the session: less time standing, gentler drying and only what's essential. Tell us when you book so we can leave extra time. If at any point they've had enough, we stop and call you.
